ROLLERS & PEEVERS

Another glorious September day for a ride. We continue to enjoy a wonderful ”Indian Summer” with temps in the 60s and 70s — at least for a few more days as they tell us rain is due in a few days. My ride today had such the typical feel of a fall day — sunny with coolness in the air calling for only light fall jacket. It was a delight.

My first find for a roller was at the Car Show that Susan rode with me to see — about 2 miles from home ;’-0. Of course the lot was filled with rollers, but this old Hook & Ladder truck struck my interest — esp with the (stuffed) Dalmatian in the window.

These next two photos are ”twofers. I took the photo of the shopping cart thinking this is such a roller it rolled far from its home. At the end of that thought I recall that is one of my Pet Peeves — people who remove carts from the store parking lots. TWOFER: A roller that is a Pet Peeve.

Next I saw my Pet Peeve of a motor vehicle parked in the bike lane. Then realized that it is also a roller. TWOFER: A Pet Peeve that is a roller.

As I ’rolled along’ I came across two more ROLLERS. No Pet Peeve with either of them.

This next photo has nothing to do with any of our challenges. It is just one that I found interesting well after taking the photo. On our small group ride on Whidbey, we had stopped for a water break when someone mentioned that (as urban/suburban people) we are not familiar with this kind of vet. I thought that interesting enough to take the photo even though I was not sure I would keep it after looking at it later. However, when culling the day’s photos I noticed that our day’s sky was just about the same as the sky in the picture. Small minds, I know, are easily entertained and I was, so wanted to share that with you here even though I will be including in my next blog post (whenever that is).

Compassionate Vet — Dr Moody???? OoooooooooKay 🙂
The painting and the sky is quite a coincidence — counts as Unusual to me.

Very good rollers and peeves photos
You are knocking this challenge out of the park!

Names can be funny when attached to their profession. There was a dentist not far away whose name was Dr. Tooth!!!
I don’t really think I am knocking this out of the park — but am having fun ;’-).

So good! Steam rollers! And I love the sign for Dr. Moody! Even the grass on the bottom matches, not just the sky.

Much later, I noticed the grass matching as well. A very serendipitous photo that I end up liking quite a lot.

At first glance, I really did think Dr. Moody’s sign was etched in glass.

It does kind of look that way and you do have to look a bit closely to see what it really is.
