Finally, some variety.  I was beginning to despair of finding any secular arches in Croatia, but finally I found a few in the dramatic ruins of Samobor Castle.  It’s unfortunately placed up on the side of a rocky hill, so there’s no bike in the photo – it was hard enough dragging ourselves up there by foot.

The bikes do make their appearances earlier in the day though, on our ride to Samobor.  If that’s not enough to whet your curiosity, maybe the sight of a rare traction ferry will do the trick.
