Thanks for keeping us updated Janet. I know, and hope Bill does too, that we are all concerned about his and his family’s safety. Please let us know of any news you may learn.

Rich, you are on top of things, as usual.

Big new fire suddenly exploded not far from us. Usually I send ace support crew and dog away while I ride it out. Not possible for me to stay this time as fire roared into our side of town and our neighborhood. We are safe with our son and his family in far northern California. We don’t know the status of our home, and won’t know for sure until we can get back into the neighborhood. Probably won’t be allowed back in for several days, or perhaps a week, because the fire remains active and authorities are always slow to reopen evacuations zones. But we’re safe, and of course I managed to strap the Ogre to the back of the car before I fled, so it’s also safe.

Thanks to everyone for sending good thoughts.

Thanks Bill, and great to know you all are ok!!
I’ve been checking the fire map on the PD site repeatedly, and it looks as though the fire is still east (just east!!) of your neighborhood.
Im envisioning masses of fire fighters in that area keeping the flames and embers at bay.
Fingers, toes, and paws all crossed here!!!

That is good news that you and family and Ogre are safe – hope your home remains unscathed. These are hard times, for some more than others. Keeping my fingers crossed.
