September Challenge :)’s and :(‘s

Diamond Back at the North Fork near the Conservation club. Always good to get out that way and see whats there 🙂
Lone morning glory has climbed another plants stem Nice blue color! 🙂
More morning glories along with some fox tails 🙂
Seed heads of giant ragweed in the sun, the morning glories, and the morning glory separatist 🙂
DB at 3800N south of town — more interesting weeds 🙂
The big broad leaved weed is a Compass Plant. They generally orient themselves N/S by the sun’s rays According to this one, <——— That way is north and back toward town, which is correct 🙂
Timothy (which is not a weed but a pasture grass) has escaped and is now back lit by the sun 🙂
Don’t know what weed that is, but the seed heads are interesting 🙂
1550E terminates here, otherwise it would be a nice straight shot south to Rossville, Illinois, where there is a Casey’s and other services available 🙁
3800N looking west, up a moraine crest and then descends to CSX railroad, and further, a crossing of the North Fork. Not going that way today 🙁
3800N looking east, it T’s out leaving gravel to go back to the north 🙁 Met with a coyote down there once! He kept on going 🙂
1550E looking north and a moraine crest 🙂
Tequila box with possibly an interestingly shaped bottle inside, but, it was empty, 🙁
Headed south on 1550E, on the Le Tour this time 🙂
My ‘new’ 40 year old Le Tour — major 🙂 Morons pitching junk in the ditch — Major 🙁
Soybeans just beginning to turn yellow then brown Crop looks good 🙂
Corn beginning to turn indicating fall is near, 🙂 But then comes winter 🙁
Flag waving in a beautiful cool northeast breeze after days and days of stifling heat and humidity 🙂 The reason the flag is at half staff is a major 🙁

Ear worm de Jour

🙂 Pedal along to Mairzy Doats and Dozy Doats 🙂

Very much enjoy all the entries you all have provided -- great to see the everyday cycling venues. Being in eastern Illinois, scenery certainly isn't our forte, but oh well, the roads are normally quiet. Look forward to more and more entries from all of you, I do have a few over on BL -- in Bill's Day Rides, and one journal.

I Like your smiley and frowny faces Rich ;’-). For some reason my emoji on my keyboard works only sporadically ;’-(.

Nice tour of your area and your bike riding routes. Flat, flat, flat it seems.

Checking out corn and beans. Ace support crew says maybe she needs to head to Blue Mound for harvest so she can ride around in gigantic combines with her brothers.

Nice that there’s a lot more smileys than sad faces. Our local corn is starting to look the same.

Nice examples, but ragweed does not make me happy. That stuff is so incredibly bad for those of us with hayfever!

Weeds definitely get a un-smiley face from me. I’ll have to pull them all up in a few months before the bushfire season.

I have a story my grandma once told me about the Mairzy Doats song. When her daughter (my mom) was a little girl, she thought the words were “Mares eat oats, and does eat oats, and little Nancy Divey.” She even named one of her dolls “Nancy Divey.”

I must say, I had no idea what the real words are until I looked it up a few days ago!
Nancy Divey is a good one!
