Sun and Clouds and Cold – Monthly Challenge

The temperature dropped a few more degrees today but the roads were dry and a pale sun came out briefly so I got on my bike – inspite of the -2°C, or because of it. I felt challenged by the weather. Yes, that felt mighty cold. I rode the short distance to the English Garden and pedaled until I found a nice shot for the challenge. My fingers were hurting by then and I was reluctant to get my camera out. When I got back home they were numb and the first thing I did was to order the gloves that Nancy recommended! Hope they are delivered soon.

Nothing like a challenge to get you motivated. As I already mentioned, I felt challenged by the cold itself. Last winter I hardly got on my bike at all. Then the cloud challenge, I have to get a few shots for that. I am also in a group on the photo sharing platform Flickr, aiming at posting photos from 180 rides in the year. As they say in the group description, it doesn’t matter if it’s dirt, tarmac or in between; riding, racing, or commuting. If you’re spinning those wheels, it’s all good.

So let’s spin those wheels!

I'm a US born ex-pat, having lived most of my adult life in Munich, Germany. Cycling and photography are my favorite things.

Good on you for getting out in the cold 🙂 I’m amazed at how much colour you’ve captured in that photo even though it is mid-winter.
