The Collection Challenge: a clutch of coyotes

I’m liking this challenge!  An otherwise ho-hum ride suddenly comes to life when you happen on some interesting subject in an unusual collection.  Not that our hike in Montaña de Oro State Park was humdrum by any means – far from it, actually – but coming across these three coyotes at its close made it extra special.

And where’s the bike, you ask?  You have to look closely, but it’s careening down the path in one of the shots from Valencia Peak.

This is just a placeholder for now. I’ll add a real description when I get more time.

That was a fantastic hike. Besides the coyotes, I really liked the shots of the storm moving in and the whipped cream inlet. And I have no doubt you two will land on your feet somewhere with great places to cycle.

If we hadn’t been in a hurry to get back to the car, I could have made a whole post of just that frothy channel. Fascinating to watch each wave come in. I should have taken a video. And the weather was fascinating alright. I’m sure you see freakish weather events all the time back there, but they’re pretty unusual here.

Beautiful hike and Thea whipped cream shot is very interesting. So sorry you two are going through all this doubtful lodging thing. Good luck with it all. So sad to see the Covid numbers and hospitalization climbing. Everywhere actually.

I have never been THAT close to coyotes. What an experience.

The Covid situation is unbearably sad. It is heartbreaking seeing this collective madness that has overtaken society. For so long now it has felt like things couldn’t get worse than they are, but we just keep spiraling down,

Those coyotes were pretty great alright, but we weren’t really that close to them – they were maybe 200 yards away. I love this camera and it’s powerful zoom.
