The Handmade’s Tale

Minnesota’s weather has become very Minnesota-like lately. Yesterday morning we woke up to a heavy frost. The day before that, The Feeshko woke up to a coat of snow on the grass and in the trees. (I was in Iowa.) Today, we’re looking at a high temperature of 42-degrees. Tomorrow will have a high of 36-degrees. On the other hand, if the weather forecasters are correct, we may see 70-degrees next weekend.

Don’t be thinking any of that dismal weather has kept me from riding though. No way. It’s just that I haven’t had much luck in finding handmade/homemade items. People just don’t make things themselves all that much anymore. I did pretty well today though. The following pictures are the result.

A handmade outhouse that proves, once again, that a Garceau can be a part of almost any Cycle365 Challenge.

Hi. My name is Greg and I ride my bike a lot. That is to say, I ride my bike almost every day. I go on long rides and short rides. Sunny rides, cloudy rides, and rainy rides. I like commuting, errand-running, day-tripping, overnighting, and touring on my bike. I ride on city streets, highways, gravel, single track, and snow with equal enthusiasm. Sometimes I ride fast and sometimes I ride slow. I try to keep my feet on the pedals at stop lights and I do not dismount when I hop up on a curb. I have a roadie bike, a mountain bike and a touring bike. I try to accept any challenge a bike ride can throw at me without complaint. But I don't like bugs.

    Lots of great homemade stuff!
No CAD/CAM stuff there — G2 just wouldn’t be the same –good to see some human creativity and ingenuity still exists somewhere.
The Tin Man is really a cool piece!
And, its great to see a Garceau provided for a {certain} kind of ant. 😉

Might start collecting tins to make a tin man for the garden and nice mosaic too…and good to see that G2 now has a toilet too

I am not ready for the kind of weather you are beginning to get as I continue to lament the loss of summer. Our fire season with wildfire smoke preventing so bike riding is bad enough. Maybe worse.
    I love the tin man.

Snow already! I can’t believe it. Did you make that little Garceau for G2? So cute!
