The real hazard

Mine fields, dinosaurs, ice picks and giant scorpions are all terrifying reminders of what a scary world we live in.  This ghost bike on a straight stretch on an open road in Madera Canyon is a sobering reminder though of where the real threats lie.  As if any of us needed reminding.

This is just a placeholder for now. I’ll add a real description when I get more time.

So true, just need one distracted or drunk driver.

Agree..but its always the cyclist who pays the highest penalty.

You make a good point. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a ghost chassis beside a bike route.

Distracted driving is becoming a bigger and bigger issue – pedestrian and cyclist fatalities are increasing in most places. I think I would have like that canyon ride though. Nice way to be rounding out the time in Tucson. Plus, congrats on the new car! At least most of those things on the old car list were just routine maintenance issues, and they were going to throw in the car wash for free 🙂 But def time to move on if it needs a new catalytic converter. My old gal had a similar amount of miles on her when I upgraded to a newer 2003 model last year – she was a 1995 lady though. It will be interesting to hear what you name the new one. My ‘new’ gal is Ms Frazier.

I was impressed at what a thorough diagnosis it was, that they even noticed how badly the car needed a bath. It feels strange to be driving around a shiny, clean, undenied car. I feel almost embarrassed, like I’m off my personal brand. It won’t take long though.
