Walks and Rides: The March 2021 Edition

The month brought a lot more snow and cold weather than expected. Last year spoiled us with its mild days but this winter just seemed to hang on forever. I don’t enjoy riding my bike in temperatures anywhere near freezing. However, walking in cold weather is no problem and since I now have my asthma under control, I also look forward to my walks. So I wasn’t too unhappy with the weather – but who doesn’t prefer sunshine?

Considering the excellence of “Little White Clouds at the End of the Day” and “A Peaceful Spot on the Wurm,” this month’s top picture might be a little controversial. However, after all the votes were tallied, one particular photo stood out. Here is the official announcement:
AND THE WINNER OF THE “GREG’S FAVORITE SUZANNE PHOTO AWARD” FOR THE MONTH OF MARCH GOES TO . . . . . . . “STICKS, STONES AND MUD.”
Thanks for the official verdict, Greg! I didn’t expect sticks and stones to win, but it is one of my favorites. I was also pleased that you appreciated little white clouds.
I would never attempt to pick a “winner” from all of you fantastic photos. But I love the creative shot of the chain wheel ;’-). You have such an eye for all things.
From struggling on walks to now being hikes — quite an accomplishment as well.
Thanks, Nancy! I thought the chainring was pretty cool, too.
Great that you’re enjoying the walking/hiking as well as cycling. They do complement each other very well. Great photos all, but I love the ‘long shadows’ pics.
I don’t really know when a walk becomes a hike, but I am pretty sure I am doing more than a stroll now.
Glad you like the long shadows, thanks.
One of these days you are gonna hafta try to take a BAD photo, Ill bet you can’t.
The sun and shadows photos are my favorites by far, Shadows look Equinoxy.
Warming up here, now if we could just get the wind to abate.
Equinoxy 🙂 Yes, I do take plenty of bad photos. To get a few I like, I take zillions of pictures and then delete most of them.
I’m glad to hear your asthma is under control and you are enjoying walking. It definitely is a better activity when it’s really cold.
You made great use of the month…whether on bike or on foot. Nice shots to remember March by.
When flowers are springing and birds chirping life’s on the improve.
