Waterfall Wednesday

(Posting early to provide some lead time)

Bill suggested we do a Waterfall Wednesday, similar to what his ace support crew’s hiking group does

Illinois has 16 (count ’em 16 waterfalls, none of which are around here

After posting that miniscule waterfall emanating from a drain pipe

I decided to go big time with our greatest waterfall

This one is on Dog Pound Road and consists of another drain spewing treated wastewater

It is quite the tourist attraction as evidenced by the viewing staircase and platform

The wastewater eventually flows to Lake Vermilion which serves as Danville’s municipal water supply

Which leads to the saying:

“When Hoopeston takes a ___; Danville takes a sip”

(Inappropriate, I know   …..  Hangs Head in Shame)

Anyway, returning to more germane discussion . . . . .

Maybe we could include any kind of falling water or water feature?

Water features could be a challenge since most are located in private areas

As one sign in town states:

“Trespassers and Burglars — Please carry ID so we can notify the next of kin”

Happy Waterfall Wednesday Hunting!!

Looking at our current weather as well as the forecast for tomorrow, any “waterfall” that I post will simply be water falling from the sky. 🙂

      Quite possible!
As I type this, places southwest of here have tornado warnings. 🙁

Good luck on your waterfall search.
Does the Wurm encounter bedrock at any place?.
Waterfalls result from a stream eroding and adjusting its gradient and it encounters resistance rock.

This Wednesday will be a wash (pun intended) for a waterfall as we will be driving home and I most likely will ot get to ride at all. And if I do, I don’t think there will be a waterfall or water feature for me to find. Good addition to the challenges though, and one I think we could keep ongoing through the years?
