Weekend
Friday, May 4, 2018: On Wednesday, I reserved one of the tent sites at the nearby Lake Vermillion State Recreation Area for Friday night. So, Friday after work I loaded up my tent etc. and rode the 20 miles to the park. Only 1 of the other 3 tent sites was occupied. However, the RV parking lot sites were full. Fortunately, the tent sites are separated from the RVs by a hill and a bit of distance.
It was a clear and cool night, a good night for sleeping and a good night for star gazing at least until the half moon rose

Saturday, May 5, 2018: I woke up and packed up before sunrise. I left the park about 10 minutes before sunrise for the 20-mile ride home. I was going to stop in Canistota for some breakfast, but the one cafe no longer serves breakfast (opens at 11:00am) and the other is closed on Saturdays. So, I rode home hungry

Sunday, May 6, 2018: I took my bike to Sioux Falls this morning and did a 20-mile loop on the bike trail. Also, rode a couple errands around town. I met a couple riding friends (from when I lived in Sioux Falls) along the trail. I rode a few miles with one of them and caught up on some of the latest SF biking news.

Lion spit, the ultimate performance enhancing drug!
I’m so old I can remember when the only PEDs in sports were Wheaties.
The lion spit was not much of a PED for me on Sunday. It was a slow-slog of a ride both before and after refilling the bottle. I’ll have to try Wheaties next time.
