With a little help from my friends

Yes, I know I’ve been a pretty faithless participant last month.  Planning our tour, biking our tour and blogging our tour is pretty time consuming, especially when you factor in time for eatin’ and drinkin’.  I’m trying to get my head around the idea of seeing faces in strange places, but I don’t think I’m quite getting it yet.  Does the featured photo count?

If not, then how about this one from our day ride from Ann Arbor last week, which Suzanne suggested might qualify as a pareidolia:

And, not content to stop there, she also suggested that this grain tower quilt from our ride to Oberlin might pass as a barn quilt.  Maybe?

This is just a placeholder for now. I’ll add a real description when I get more time.

That is for sure a barn quilt.
After staring at my rear derailleur for so long finding faces, yes, I see a face in your first photo. 🙂

I certainly see faces in the first two – I need an outline for the third to know what I’m looking for though. I’m not particularly good at seeing faces, however, so I’ve probably missed heaps already on my own excursions. You are definitely on the board though!

You might not have found 80 items for the scavenger hunt, but no one said that you need more than one pareidolia for July.

I can sorta, just see, something that resembles a face in the second photo…got to work on my imagination.

Sometimes a student gets an “A” on an assignment by sheer luck. That seems to be what happened in the case of the “face in the dam” photo. Thats alright, an “A” is an “A” no matter how you get it.

Some may be a little confused — that third photo is not of a face, it is a barn quilt from the June challenge.

I try and try to see a face in photo #1 but cannot make it work for me. #2 — yes, a very interesting face appears.

I should have sketched in a mustache on that first photo to make the face stand out better, but I wasn’t clear on the gender. And yes, you’re right of course – that barn quilt is a late entry for the June challenge.

I’ve decided that I’m pareidolia-challenged. Despite keeping my eyes peeled on my rides this month, nothing has really caught my eye, and I’ve even struggled to see faces in a lot of the photos that have already been posted. As Lednar says, maybe it’s an imagination issue.
