Your Czar Is Back From The Snow Globe

I haven’t been an active participant here on Cycle365 for the last week or so because I was on a little wintertime bike tour. I’m totally incompetent when it comes to multi-blogging. I was so immersed in my tour and keeping up on its journal that I paid no attention at all to my cooking blog or Facebook or Youtube (except to upload my own videos.)

I did occasionally make some time to look at Cycle365 though, and I must say it was nice to see that you’ve been carrying on without me. I’m sorry I didn’t write any comments to your posts, and it seems too late to go back and start adding them now. I’m just going to write a single comment that applies equally to every post I’ve seen–even the ones that just showed up this morning.

THANK YOU FOR CONTINUING WITH THE A-B-C CHALLENGE WITHOUT ME. YOUR PICTURES AND STORIES HAVE BEEN GREAT. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. AND IF YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS FOR THE JANUARY CHALLENGE PLEASE LET ME KNOW. OTHERWISE, YOU’RE PROBABLY GOING TO GET THE NEXT FIVE LETTERS OF THE ALPHABET.

Sincerely, Your Czar

Also, I saw there were technical problems with the site last week. Thank goodness for the management team (Rocky, Scott and Bill) who got that fixed in a very timely manner.

As you may know, MY Town got 18-inches of fresh snow a few days ago. Since then, the temperatures have only been in the 25-35 degree range, but the bright sun has been diligently melting down the snow levels anyway. Then the temperature started soaring last night and is continuing to soar throughout the morning. Today’s high will be 57-degrees, which will smash the all-time record for December 15th., which is 51-degrees. The cool thing is that somewhere around 3:00 this afternoon, the winds are going to start gusting up to 65 miles per hour and there’s a pretty good chance we’ll get some heavy thunderstorms. That’s pretty crazy for December in Minnesota. Oh, if only I had saved the Weather Challenge until this month.

At 9:30 it was already nearly 50-degrees and quite foggy too.

That’s enough with the preliminaries. It’s time to get right down to the ABCs.

Oops, that last one was a personal political opinion, not a thing that begins with an “E”. I apologize. Here is my substitute E:

Entrance

Hi. My name is Greg and I ride my bike a lot. That is to say, I ride my bike almost every day. I go on long rides and short rides. Sunny rides, cloudy rides, and rainy rides. I like commuting, errand-running, day-tripping, overnighting, and touring on my bike. I ride on city streets, highways, gravel, single track, and snow with equal enthusiasm. Sometimes I ride fast and sometimes I ride slow. I try to keep my feet on the pedals at stop lights and I do not dismount when I hop up on a curb. I have a roadie bike, a mountain bike and a touring bike. I try to accept any challenge a bike ride can throw at me without complaint. But I don't like bugs.

You had quite the wintry adventure, Mr Snow Globe! Add me to the category of “sorry we didn’t get to see you stuck in a snow cave for three days with only a bottle of red wine and half a Subway sandwich.” 😉

With only half of a Subway Club, I might have starved to death. But I’ve heard that a man can survive for three days on a bottle of wine. Maybe four days in sub-freezing temperatures. (And, oh, the wine-induced hypothermic hallucinations I might have experienced!)

I like your personal political opinion E 😉.

I don’t have a full idea for January — as in one that might take a good chunk of the month, but Rich pointed out that he liked “Chimney” photos I had posted. There seem to be several versions of chimneys, and I would like to see some from other places. This is just a thought, and I am surely willing to have the alphabet challenge continue instead ;’-)

I will give the chimney idea serious consideration. Thank you, Nancy.
